Leslie Compton Kass joins Olu on the latest episode of Titans of
Nuclear.
1) Leslie Kass is the Executive Vice President of the Technical
center at TC Energy, working to make sure TC Energy is a learning
organization. She also sits on the board of Bruce nuclear power
plant, which TC energy is a joint investor.
2) Leslie believes now is the best time for energy companies to
embrace effective communication strategies for the public and the
local communities that they work in, taking an active role in
telling the story of how they as the nuclear industry are adding
value to the economy and providing clean-carbon free
energy.
3) Nuclear energy will remain an important part of the energy mix
for many years to come, as nuclear is one of the most viable
options for baseload capacity while generating zero
emissions.
4) Leslie recalls her time spent at NEI during the Fukushima
accident and the crisis control she was part of managing, the
responsibility of communicating and getting real facts out to a
panicking public is particularly difficult but with strong
collaboration between companies and individuals in the industry it
was made possible.
